Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Section

ICT Section deals with E-Governance, Digitization of Records and Right to Information (RTI).

  • E- Governance:

The e-Office is a Mission Mode Project (MMP) under the National e-Governance Programme (NeGP). It is aimed to conduct the office procedures electronically for a simplified, responsive, effective and transparent working in all government offices.

Department has implemented e-Office products such as the File Management System (FMS), Knowledge Management System (KMS), Leave Management System (LMS), e-PAR and considerable progress has been achieved in Personnel Information Management System (PIMS). Employee Services like e-Notice Board, e-Pay Slip, e-Income Tax Statement have also been made available to all Staff of the Department. The Collaboration and Messaging System (CAMS) has also been installed and is open to users. Most of the sections in the Department are working through e-files. Regular training and repeated sessions were given to all staff members to make them comfortable with e-Office products and bring about the behavioural change for switching to e-filing. The number of e-Files created/ opened as a percentage of the total files in the Department is consistently more than 90% since April, 2017. The aggregate percentage of e-files on e-Office portal is more than 89%.

  • Digitization of Records:

ICT Section co-ordinates Digitization of files of the Department. To expedite the completion of digitization of records, a vendor has been engaged for scanning of files.The scanning of the files is going on since January, 2017 and vendor had scanned 31221 files (approx. 71 lakh pages) and have handed over scanned copies/ data of 27755 files to the concerned sections. Out of these 27,755 files, around 22,000 files were migrated to e-Office as on 30th June, 2018 and the remaining files are being migrated by the concerned sections of the Department in e-Office portal.

  • Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005
    • Appointment of Central Public Information Officer and Central Assistant Public Information Officer;
    • Collection and Compilation of material for the manuals as provided in the RTI Act;
    • Evolving internal procedures for implementation of the RTI Act;
    • Reports/ returns as prescribed by CIC and DOPT on implementation of the RTI Act and monitoring thereof;
    • Circulation of instructions received from CIC, DOPT, DAR&PG etc for compliance in the Department and its attached / subordinate / field offices and PSUs on RTI

  • Any other matter assigned from time to time.
