Subject:- Relaxation in Uniform specifications of wheat for Rabi Marketing Season 2008-09 in Madhya Pradesh.

Sir,

I am directed to refer to letter No. 5-2/2008/1/29 dated 18 th March,2008 seeking relaxation in specifications of wheat for Rabi Marketing Season 2008-2009 due to frost and other natural calamities.

(2) In order to reduce the hardship of farmers and to avoid distress sale of wheat, it has been decided to procure wheat in Madhya Pradesh with the following relaxations in the uniform specifications of wheat during the Rabi Marketing Season 2008-09 with immediate effect:

  1. The percentage of damaged grain in wheat may be relaxed from existing 2.0% to 3.0% with full value cut.

     

  2. The percentage of shriveled and broken grains may be relaxed from existing 7.0% to 10% with ½ value cut.

 

(3) Wheat so procured shall be staked and accounted for separately and will be issued on over-riding priority basis for distribution under TPDS and other welfare schemes in the State of Madhya Pradesh irrespective of FIFO principle.

(4) The State Government is advised to arrange cleaning of the grains at the procurement centres before purchase by the FCI/State agencies.

(5) Cost sheets for URS wheat shall be issued separately.

    I am directed to refer to D.O. letter No. F.5-2/2005/29/1 dated 12.4.2005-seeking relaxation in specifications of wheat for Rabi Marketing Season 2005-2006 in respect of lustre lost wheat and shrivelled and broken grains due to untimely rains and hailstorms.

    (2) In order to reduce the hardship of farmers and to avoid distress sale of wheat, it has been decided to procure wheat in Madhya Pradesh with the following relaxations in the uniform specifications of wheat during the Rabi Marketing Season 2005-2006 with immediate effect:

    1. Wheat may be procured with lustre lost grain upto 30% with a value cut of Rs. 5.00 per qtl.
    2. The limit of shrivelled and broken grains upto 8% against the existing limit of 7% with a value cut of Rs.3.00 per qtl.

     

    Wheat so procured shall be stacked separately and issued on over-riding priority for consumption under PDS in the State, irrespective of FIFO principle.

    I am directed to refer to DO letter No. 666/PS/Food/06 dated 14th March,2006 seeking relaxation in specifications of wheat for Rabi Marketing season 2006-2007 due to damage to the wheat crop by unseasonal rains and hail storms.

    In order to reduce the hardship of farmers and to avoid distress sale of wheat, it has been decided to procure wheat in Madhya Pradesh with the following relaxations in the uniform specifications of wheat during the Rabi Marketing Season 2006-2007 with immediate effect:

    (i) Wheat may be procured with lustre lost grain upto 40% with a value cut of Rs. 1.50 per qtl.

    (ii) The limit of damaged grain has been relaxed to 3% against the existing limit of 2% with a value cut of Rs. 6.50 per qtl.

    Wheat so procured shall be stacked and accounted for separately and will be issued on over-riding priority for consumption under PDS in the State, irrespective of FIFO principle.
